Sakinah Fit: The Fitness App Tailored for Muslim Women
28 September 2026
I remember sitting in my apartment one rainy afternoon, scrolling through various fitness apps on my phone. They all screamed the same thing: lift heavier, run faster, lose weight! But what if you’re a Muslim woman who wants to stay fit while maintaining your modesty? I quickly realized there was a huge gap in the market for fitness solutions that aligned with the values of this demographic. It felt like there was nothing truly catering to my needs and those of other women in the community.
The Problem
This is where Sakinah Fit comes in. Our app exists to empower Muslim women to pursue their fitness goals without sacrificing their principles. The challenge is simple: many women want to stay active and healthy but don’t always feel comfortable in traditional fitness environments or may struggle to find workout plans that respect their modesty. We recognized the need for a modest workout app that not only offers tailored fitness plans but also aligns with halal nutrition guidelines, making it accessible and relevant.
The Build / Story
Building Sakinah Fit was a passion project for us at OfBuilder. I remember brainstorming with the team about how we could create a user-friendly interface that felt welcoming and inclusive. One of the greatest challenges was designing a workout program that would resonate with various fitness levels while ensuring that every workout followed modesty standards. We tested countless routines and gathered feedback from friends and family, which led us to a breakthrough: simplicity and clarity were essential.
One honest admission? There were times I questioned whether we could pull it off. Back when we were in the design phase, I felt overwhelmed. I was juggling code, making sure our algorithms were on point, and dealing with the constant fear of whether our app would genuinely meet the needs of our target audience. It was a rollercoaster of emotions!
Key Features
1. Tailored Workouts for Modesty Our workouts are designed with modesty in mind. Each routine can be performed at home or in private spaces, ensuring you can stay fit without compromising your values. No more awkward moments at the gym.
2. Halal Nutrition Plans Just like workouts, nutrition is crucial. Our meal plans are grounded in halal guidelines, making it easy for users to track their meals while staying true to their beliefs. You'll find recipes that are not only healthy but delicious too!
3. Community Support We believe in the power of community. Sakinah Fit integrates a chat feature where users can connect, share progress, and motivate each other. It’s like having a personal cheerleading squad right in your pocket.
4. Ramadan Focus Fitness doesn’t take a break during Ramadan! To help users stay active during this holy month, we created a special Ramadan fitness guide and meal plans that allow for a balanced approach to health while respecting fasting practices.
Real Numbers / Proof
So far, we’ve reached around 2,500 downloads, which while modest, feels like a small victory. Users from Bangladesh, Malaysia, and the UK have shared their stories, and I can tell you—nothing compares to reading a message from a user saying how Sakinah Fit has made it easier for her to manage fitness while honoring her values. That feedback drives us to improve and expand.
You can find Sakinah Fit on the [Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ofbuilder.sakinahfit). If you’re curious about our app and what else we’re up to, check out [ofbuilder.com](https://ofbuilder.com).
Closing
As we continue to grow, we have plans to incorporate more features based on user feedback, including virtual classes and more nutrition info tailored for specific dietary needs. It’s an exciting time for us, but greater than any feature, I love how we’re forming a community around fitness and faith. Every day I wake up grateful for the chance to create something meaningful. Let's see where this journey takes us next!
